Chelsea Markuson is an artist working in installation, drawing and performance. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions, internationally and nationally at venues including the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art in Grand Rapids, Carnegie Center Of Art and Art History in New Albany, Indiana and 333 Midland in Detroit and in Germany. This summer Chelsea attended the Pilotenkuche International Art Program in Leipzig, Germany where she conducted public and private site-specific performances in and around the city.
Chelsea completed her BFA from Indiana University Southeast and is currently a MFA candidate at Michigan State University in Studio Art where she has received numerous fellowships and grants so her travel and ideas can become fully realized. Chelsea was born in Louisville, Kentucky and currently lives and works in East Lansing, Michigan.
